It’s LISA’s World, We’re Just Living in It

With her latest collaboration with Meta, K-pop sensation LISA invites us to see the world from her point of view.

Fame has a way of drawing a sharp line between your inner and outer worlds, but how does this work if you’re the most-followed K-pop artist in the world? With 105 million followers and counting, BLACKPINK’s Lalisa Manobal (the 29-year-old Thai rapper, singer, and actor known simply as LISA) has leveraged her art to explore exactly this, conveying that there’s really no use in trying to reconcile one’s competing identities—they coexist, so best to just lean in.

Of course, for her deeply dedicated fan base, the “Lilies,” this concept is not new. When she announced her debut solo album in 2025, she built its entire visual identity around a five-point star, each point representing one of her distinct personas. Her star became shorthand for her ethos: that containing multitudes is not a contradiction. It is, in fact, the whole point.

And now, with the launch of Meta Glasses by LISA, she’s able to share her whole world exactly as she’s experiencing it: as the high-octane stage performer with multiple luxury brand ambassador deals and magazine covers; as the on-the-rise actor sharing Thai culture in everyone’s favorite streaming show; or as the animal lover whose ideal day is spent sipping matcha and hanging out with her “L Family,” which includes Leo, the Scottish Fold cat, and Love, the nearly 100-pound Doberman that she calls “a real sweetie.”

All of these versions of herself inspired her collaboration with Meta Glasses. “This collection really shows all the different sides of me,” LISA says. She has some experience in product design from past collaborations, but, she says, “this one was especially fun since every step of the process was so detailed.”

Her self-professed goal was to create glasses that her Lilies would love. “I’m always looking for new ways to connect with my fans, so I’m excited to share my own custom designs with them,” she says. A yearlong design process resulted in two distinct styles: the casual-cool “Adventurer” and the Hollywood-glam cat-eyed “Capri.”

With its soft gray frame and rose-tinted lenses, the Adventurer reflects LISA’s nonchalant sense of style when she’s not working. “I’m a lot more chill when I’m off duty,” she explains. “An ideal day for me would just be leaving the house to grab matcha...and then coming back home and relaxing all day.” The Capri occupies an entirely different register. LISA’s public-facing wardrobe is built around looks that exude a sense of control and purpose, from razor-sharp tailoring to softly draped archival haute couture. The Capri carries that same energy: a sleek cat-eye silhouette with dark frames and lenses that would feel equally at home onstage at a music festival or front row at fashion week. “The Capri cat-eye is more on duty,” LISA says. “When I work, I need something to put the cherry on top of my outfits—these are the frames for those moments.” Together, the two styles uncover some of the layers she has been articulating since her solo album. And her emblematic star symbol is embellished onto the temple tips of both styles.

LISA wears prescription glasses every day, and that reality was a major design consideration as well. “My inspiration just came from wanting something I can comfortably wear daily,” she says. Functionality, therefore, was nonnegotiable: Both styles feature adjustable temple tips and nose pads—a detail LISA is particularly excited about after years of having glasses that didn’t quite fit. “I’ve had glasses that I’ve loved, but that slid right off my face. I’d have to go back to the store to get them adjusted,” she recalls. “But with these, you can just do it yourself.”

For someone like LISA, who is perpetually in motion, hopping between cities, sets, and stages, the frictionless experience that the Meta Glasses provide has real appeal. “The technology is useful for my daily life,” she says. “When your hands are full, sometimes you can’t stop to search for something on your phone, so it’s really convenient to just ask Meta.”

The live translation feature carries a particular resonance. LISA, who grew up in Thailand, trained in South Korea, and now moves fluidly through an entirely global career, is constantly navigating language barriers. “I travel a lot, so the fact that my glasses can help translate for me is amazing—especially different language menus all over the world,” she says. It just so happens that Thai is one of the 20 languages available for live translation on Meta Glasses.

And nothing LISA works on would be complete without something truly for the fans—the Lilies and the BLINKs faithful who have followed her since her Bangkok dance studio days and who can’t wait for her upcoming Las Vegas residency. Each pair of her Meta Glasses comes packaged with a blind box containing one of several collectible animal charms, a concept born from LISA’s own genuine love of the format. “I really love blind boxes,” she says, downplaying the fact that she single-handedly kicked off the 2024 bag-charm craze, “so we thought making the charms a blind box would make it so much more exciting for all the fans.”

Nestled within each blind box is a teeny-tiny dog or cat modeled after her own pets. “I’m the most at home when I’m with my pets, but since I can’t be with them all the time, I wanted to create something so I can take them along with me when I’m traveling,” she says. The 14 collectibles feature her pets in various states and colors, but true collectors will be hoping to unbox the ultra-rare charms: a dog with a “cone of shame” and a cat with a flower collar. LISA hopes her fans will lean into charm swapping to complete their collections and build community among the Lilies. “It’s one of the best parts of all this,” LISA says.

With her new collaboration marking the idol’s foray into tech, LISA’s galaxy is continuing to expand. This fall, she’s releasing a new EP and kicking off a Las Vegas residency. “I can’t wait to show you all some brand-new stuff!” she says. “And hopefully, next year, I can focus not only on music, but acting too. Right now, I just love doing everything.”
