Celine Dion Steps Out in the French Fall Uniform Ahead of Her Paris Residency

Celine Dion was spotted in Paris on Friday morning, and the 58-year-old lovingly greeted fans ahead of the start of her five-week residency in the city.
The French Canadian singer wore an unsurprisingly chic ensemble for the outing, her first meaningful one in about eighteen months. She looked healthy and happy while walking around in the Parisian fall uniform of black boots and a trench, though Dion’s take was anything but classic. Dressed head-to-toe in pieces from Alaïa’s upcoming winter/spring 2027 collection, Dion waved to fans in a wrap trench with extra fabric on the sides that folded in on itself to create swinging pickups. Her suede boots, meanwhile, boasted cutouts, making for a graphic effect as the leather extended up the center of her feet before covering her ankles and calves. Finally, oversized sunglasses covered up her face, though her immense emotions were still very much on display.
In just a few weeks, Dion will meet fans again at Plenitude Arena. The largest indoor arena in Europe will host Dion from September 12 through October 17 as she sings to 45,000 people a night. The residency is the beginning of Dion’s return, a journey that began in 2022 when the singer was diagnosed with the rare autoimmune neurological disorder stiff-person syndrome. Dion documented a bit of her recovery in the 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion, explaining the pain she has faced due to the disorder, including the inability to walk without first taking a Valium.
Recently, Dion spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about her return to the stage, which will mark her first time performing since the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. She has been doing 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week as well as taking ballet classes. Following the final date in October, Dion will get a bit of a break before returning for ten more shows in May 2027.
“I am ready and I’m a bit uptight of course because it’s been a long time,” she said to French broadcaster BFMTV on Friday morning. But when asked to provide a sneak peek and reveal what song will open her concert and truly welcome fans back into her world, she was not so willing to spill. “I can't say. It's a big secret.”
