Last night, the Stranger Things Sadie Sink star traded the Upside Down for London, where she made her West End debut in Robert Icke’s Romeo & Juliet. Sink celebrated the occasion alongside co-star Noah Jupe, all while wearing an outfit that paid homage to one of the most famous Juliets of all time.

Sink slipped into an ivory empire waist Prada dress that drew inspiration from an outfit Claire Danes wore in Baz Luhrman’s 1996 adaptation of Romeo + Juliet. The fluid design featured soft pleats, cap sleeves with embroidery, and a curved neckline. Styled by Molly Dickson, Sink finished the look with minimal jewels by Repossi. She let her famous copper red hair fall past her shoulders and wore a mauve lip color and blush-stained cheeks.

Sink has long turned to Prada for her red carpet needs, but her choice last night was poignant on multiple levels. (Jupe, fittingly, turned to Prada’s sister label Miu Miu for the after-party.) Sink’s dress nodded directly to Claire Danes’s onscreen wardrobe, while the Italian label itself was part of the original film. They collaborated with costume designer Kym Barrett behind the scenes to outfit Danes and her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

On stage, Sink took her final bow in a similarly pared-back dress that consisted of a bateau neckline, exposed seaming, and a floor-length circle skirt. Both looks were fitting matches for a modern Juliet—soft, understated, and quietly romantic.
