Zendaya’s Tweed Extravaganza Is Crafted Out of Leftover Fabric Scraps

It’s due time to kick off statement skirt season, according to Zendaya. Temporarily putting a pause on the bridal theme of her The Drama press fashion, the actor stepped out in New York City today in an outfit made from fabrics that were originally intended for the garbage bin.
Seen departing the set of Good Morning America, Zendaya wore a full look straight from the runway of Erdem’s fall 2026 show. Up top, the look channeled a prim London lady, with a high-neck jacket in two-toned tweed featuring exposed piping. Down below is where the party started.
Layered undeneath was a dress that blossomed with a fringed micro-mini skirt, done in a shaggy fringe that mimicked the black-and-white color palette above. The cuffs of her jacket’s sleeves were trimmed with matching fringe. Letting the skirt’s kinetic texture take center stage, Zendaya completed the look with minimal jewelry and pointed-toe pumps—in wedding white, of course.
The particular collection that Zendaya’s set hails from doubled as designer Erdem Moralıoğlu’s 20th anniversary. To celebrate, Moralıoğlu mixed in fabrics from the archive and utilized extra textiles from the workroom that otherwise would have been thrown out to create something entirely new. The jacket was handwoven, while the dress was crafted using leftover scraps.
Zendaya’s New York outing comes amid her globe-trotting press tour for The Drama, where she’s been channeling pure bridal bliss with help from her Image Architect Law Roach. The duo, of course, are leaning into themed dressing by nodding to the wedding adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”
At the film’s most recent premiere in Rome, Zendaya found her “something borrowed” in the wardrobe of none other than Cate Blanchett. She hit the red carpet in an archival Armani Privé gown that Blanchett had worn on two occasions in 2025 and 2022. For her “something old” and something new,” she wore her very own Vivienne Westwood Oscars dress and a custom Louis Vuitton bridal look, respectively.
With “something blue” on the table, there’s no telling as to what Zendaya will conjure up next to complete the quartet.
